Hey!

1/26/13

Ola! Tudo ben?

We just finished up day 3.  We taught our first lesson in Portuguese.  First lesson ever actually.  We is Elder Moffitt & me.  He played lacrosse at the U, he's from Cottonwood Heights.  I'm still getting to know him, but I like him just fine.

Day one was roooooough.  It's been getting better.  Every time I feel like complaining, I realize that I am glad we are going at such a fast pace, even if I feel like I can't catch up, at least I'm chasing where I'm supposed to be.

Thanks for the letter.  I got it today!  I waited until we were done to read it, but I left it locked in the classroom.  (facepalm)  I'll read it tomorrow.  Please send more!

En amo familia!

Having Skylar here that first day was the best thing ever.  I only ever see him 10 minutes a day, but still...  I feel like I've spent 50 hours in the classroom already...  It's a tight squeeze for 14 of us!  13 Elders and 1 Sister.  Bless that Sister.

Estimated departure date is March 5.

More letters por favor!  (I'm sure the first one is awesome though.)

Also.....                     PORTUGUESE IS NOT SPANISH!!!

Spanish makes me say day instead of jee (de).   Spanish helps me guess at words.  It's close to about 10% of the actual words.

When I got here I kept wanting to do just language study.  But D&C 11:21....I'll try.

Love you all!  Tudo ben (toodoo bang-(soft g))  This is where I want to be.

Love,
Elder Wallace

Change Of Plans

Aaron heard today that he will be going to the Provo Mission Training Center on January 23, since his visa has not arrived yet.

Taco Fiesta Con Elder Wallace

I don't even know how to say it in Portuguese!
Aaron's mission call arrived on Wed, Sept 26, 2012.  He couldn't wait for us to bring it out to him that weekend, so we opened it over video chat and I held it up for Aaron to read. Goiania, Brazil!!  He reports to the CTM in Sao Paulo, Brazil on January 8, 2013.  He is extremely excited, mostly because Brazil is THE soccer country.  I'm sure he'll get to play once or twice on his P-days.

Note:  In December, Aaron received a letter letting him know that the training time in the CTM has been reduced from 8 weeks to 6 weeks and he won't be leaving until January 23.  His visa has still not been received, so we will see what happens!
